My morning started early with a 6 a.m. nonstop flight. I landed in Dallas around 9 a.m. with just enough time to get to the rental car counter and drive downtown (the show had already begun).
I got to buy new cosmetics and tools from several brands and stores that were new to me including Alcone Company, Crown Brush, Dante Frends, Hissyfit and Inglot. I attended one workshop titled “Marketing Me: Strategies for Success with Bethany Townes.” Townes shared her background and growing career on becoming an MTV makeup artist.
The highlight of my day was meeting legendary MUA Reggie Wells. He was Oprah’s personal MUA for over two decades and has done makeup for hundreds of his celebrity clientele. I purchased his limited supply of Hissyfit buffing powder, which compliments my foundation for a smooth finish. The coverage is amazing!
The MakeUp Show Dallas was not as big as I thought it would be, but I still had a good time. I look forward to attending this event in Los Angeles next year.
